Queen – Lena Wilson

Lena Wilson is the 2021-2022 Montrose County Fair and Rodeo Queen. Lena, the 16 year old daughter of Jenna Wilson, is a junior at Montrose high school. Her sophomore year she enjoyed taking both Animal Science and Veterinary science though the Montrose FFA chapter where this year she became involved as an FFA officer. This is Lena’s 6th year in 4h where she shows horses and pigs. She has been involved with animals since before she can remember with her primary interest in horses. When she was younger, she enjoyed showing and jumping with her horse Leo. Soon she began to get more involved with Western riding and events such as cattle sorting and barrel racing with her horse Stormy. Lena’s love of riding and the rodeo continues to grow through her involvement with the Montrose County Fair and Rodeo.
Gentry is the 2021-2022 Montrose County Fair and Rodeo Princess. She is the daughter of Ben and Beth Godbey and is a 12-year-old student at Centennial Middle School. Gentry lives with her parents and brothers on their Montrose ranch where they raise hay and grass-fed beef. She works hard and helps her family in every way she can, and enjoys branding calves and getting to see the miracle to new calves being born. Gentry’s favorite thing to do is ride her horses, and she especially loves going fast! She is a member of the Colorado State Junior High Rodeo Association where she competes in rodeos across the state and is an active 4H member. One of Gentry’s favorite quotes is “She believes she could, so she did”, and she believes that with a positive attitude, strong faith and hard work you can accomplish anything.
MCFR Princess Attendant
Mary Friend is the Montrose County Fair and Rodeo Princess Attendant for the 2021-2022 year. She is 12 years old and going to be in 7th grade at Olathe Middle School. She loves showing and working with all of her animals, especially riding & competing with my horses. When she’s not working with her animals, you can find her working on the farm, riding dirt bikes, helping with the family businesses or enjoying the beautiful mountains of Colorado. She wishes all the rodeo contestants good luck.
