The Fair Board designates committees to take on specific tasks relating to different aspects of the organization and operation of the Montrose County Fair. Each committee consists of at least one serving Fair Board member. Members of the public may also serve on committees as deemed appropriate by the Fair Board. To volunteer to serve on a committee please email firstname.lastname@example.org. Committees bring plans, suggestions and recommendations to the Fair Board for approval.
Devises a program of educational and entertaining activities that meet the goals and mission of the Montrose County Fair. Coordinate with other related committees as needed to ensure a cohesive schedule.
Researches, selects and purchases awards for all fair competitors.
Devices and communicates a plan for the production of booths that will demonstrate the goals, values and mission of 4-H, FFA and the Monrose County Fair. Coordinates with all groups assigned to produce a booth on aspects of booth displays.
Communicates with the goals, mission, annual plan and schedule highlights for the Montrose County Fair to other local entities, the press and community. Builds and maintains appropriate relationships with community partners.
Junior Livestock Auction
Plans and executes all aspects of the Jr. Livestock Auction, helping to ensure a great experience for buyers to precipitate a successful sale.
Coordinates all aspects of the Jr. Live Stock Show, including the safe movement and accommodation of animals and coordination of an efficient schedule.
Reviews Open Show classes and rules, making updates and changes that fit with the mission and goals of the Montrose County Fair. Coordinates communication of Open show information to the public, assists with entries, displays and retaining judges.
Develops and communicates Montrose County Fair sponsor deck. Approaches and works with appropriate potential sponsors.
Coordinates all aspects of ticketed events. Liaises with activities and education committee and others as applicable to ensure a cohesive and efficient schedule.
