Montrose County Announces New Fair Board Members

Montrose, CO— Following a change to the re-structuring of the Montrose County Fair Board, the board of county commissioners voted in a new fair board in a special meeting. The re-structuring and revision of the fair board’s operating procedures occurred on Nov. 17 and a new board was seated in just over two weeks. These changes came to fruition in an effort to improve the functionality of the Montrose County Fair Board.

“In a field of 17 applicants, we had to make some tough choices to narrow it down to nine board members,” said Commissioner Sue Hansen. “I am grateful to the individuals who applied to help serve their community and I am also impressed with the quality of applicants.”

“The level of experience we have on this board with both new additions and a few seasoned members is top notch,” said Commissioner Keith Caddy. “These members will help ensure the agricultural and livestock heritage of the Montrose County Fair and Rodeo, as well as help promote agriculture countywide.”

The new board members are: Chris Cohick, Kim Wilson, Justin Gleason, Matt Box, Kelsey Klock, Tammy Stroup, Cody Brown, Raymie Suppes, and Chad Dunlap. The first regularly scheduled meeting of the fair board will occur on Dec. 21 in the Pioneer Room of Friendship Hall at 7pm and the public is welcome to attend.
